Micael Widell Newsletter #46

Captain’s log

The year has started pretty well for me! I haven’t been as productive as I normally am in terms of number of Youtube videos, but that is because I had to catch up on bookkeeping and other administrative stuff.

I still had a lot of success though, because one of my videos became the most popular ever in the history of my youtube channel: Top 7 Weirdest Macro Lenses. Never before have I posted a video that received as many views in the first couple of weeks. I also posted a shortened version on Tiktok, and it also took off, generating 200 000 views in a few days.

I also did some snowflake photography, fog photography with the Ricoh GRIIIx, a simple homemade fisheye macro lens, and a video with everything you need to know about extension tubes. I also did a long Questions & Answers-video for my Patreon supporters.

I am really looking forward to spring now. It is a few months away, but just the fact that it is starting to get brighter every day here in Sweden, makes me in such a good mood.

In the coming couple of weeks I will work on some reviews of cool and interesting macro photography equipment.
