Captain's log
August was a pretty solid month for me in terms of work. Despite the month starting with a week of family vacation, I managed to make and publish 9 youtube videos about macro photography. Scroll to the bottom of this e-mail for links to all the videos.
A while ago I published a video called I'm Losing $1500/month Making These Videos which was 100% true when I recorded it. But things have improved a lot in only a few months, and I feel like I am on a good trajectory now income wise. Just after that video, my views started increasing, and they are still on a much higher level than ever before. This brings in a lot more money from youtube ads and affiliate links.
Also, I have started getting a steady stream of new Patreon supporters, which I am so thankful for. Last month I got 25 new Patreon supporters, which is amazing. Now 92 people are donating $5 per month to me via my Patreon page, and in return they get access to my archive of bonus videos, and a new bonus video each month.
So how much money am I losing per month right now by putting all my time into youtube? Only around $800 :) It's going in the right direction!
