HEY Y’ALL

long time no talk. i’m feeling more and more disillusioned with social media, so i am bringing back the newsletter. i hope to also share events, classes, and resources from other people and orgs so we don’t have to rely so much on these platforms that are ran by fascists and their friends.

if you would like to unsubscribe, go here:

for now, i invite you to submit to ANTi zine’s next issue. PLEASE forward this email to your pals who you think might be interested in submitting! i would love to get voices from others outside of ‘florida’ (✿◡‿◡)

OPEN CALL

“ANTi zine is now accepting submissions for our next issue: all about organizing. the zine will be published in may 2025. the deadline to submit is saturday, april 26.

please e-mail your submission(s) along with how you would like to be credited (artist name, pronouns, social media handles, website, etc.) to antizine@proton.me

you can submit anything that can be printed! included but not limited to: photos, comics, collage, illustration, writing (fiction and non-fiction), scans of found objects, etc.! but also, if there is a video or other digital media that you made that cannot be printed - i can put the link to the video in the zine w/screenshots. i am open to that!

PLEASE ensure that the images you submit are high-quality images with a DPI of 300 if at all possible. Please also submit in the following formats only: .pdf, .jpg, .png, or text in the e-mail body.

*** TERMS ***

by submitting to ANTi zine, you give the publisher/editor (me, mia) permission to use your images and writings in a potentially transformative way. i make each zine page by hand, scan the pages onto my laptop, then format the zine digitally. since i make each issue by hand, i cut and collage images to create each page. this might mean that your image bleeds over an entire page or spread, or it may be printed, cut, and pasted onto a page with other elements. if you have specific instructions for presenting your work in the zine, you must let me know in the original submission e-mail.

you will be credited - if you would like to remain anonymous, please let me know.

** please note: i charge $6 per issue at markets and $6 quarterly for snail-mail subscribers. this is to account for time spent printing, collating, and stapling; as well as considering shipping (it's getting more expensive) and printing/ink (same) costs. it is also how i will now be able to pay contributors, as of 2/5/2025.

payment will depend on sales for that quarter. at the end of the quarter, i will add up all of the revenue from ANTi zine and pay out everyone equally.

if your work is featured in the february issue, i add revenue up beginning on february 15 (the release date) and ending on may 15 (when the next issue is released). i will set aside funds for paper and ink, then i will split the profits between me and the other contributors for that issue. for may, same thing except the dates will range from may 15 to august 15. so, you will not be paid up front for your work, but there will be a kick back at the end of the quarter (with receipts whenever possible).

if you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out. ANTizine@proton.me “
