Restrict Composer dependency updates to only patch releases
I was doing website maintenance and checked for outdated dependencies with composer outdated. I usually filter with -D for checking direct dependencies and -p for packages with patch releases. These are typically easy pickings. I saw I was on 2.1.3 of the Honeypot module and 2.1.4 was available. So I ran composer update drupal/honeypot.
Upcoming Talking Drupal podcast
This week, I recorded an episode about WebAssembly on Talking Drupal. The episode should be out soon. I’m also working on a blog post expanding my DrupaCon Barcelona talk about Drupal and WebAssembly.
Back on live streaming?
I’m hoping to get back on live streams. They’re fun and the primary way for me to keep up with open source maintenance. I used to do them on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm CDT. If you enjoyed them before, what other times would work best for you?

Please stop making Discord servers for things that shouldn't be Discord servers.
I don’t like Discord. I can’t find the app usable; maybe I’m old. There’s just something with the UI. Unfortunately, it’s become the de facto way of managing communities. Although, I guess I can’t say the atrophy of Drupal’s forums and reliance on Slack is much better. Discord or Slack, the article makes some great points about why relying on chat applications for community management isn’t that great.
This Be The Verse by Philip Larkin (NSFW language)
I’ve got three kids, and the fantastic thing about kids is that when they do something that irritates you, it’s usually a reflection of your own bad habits and mannerisms, at least from my experience. I disagree with the ending, but I find it puts some perspective on parenting.
This poem was mentioned in The Tim Ferris Show episode with Jerry Colonna.
