Hey there!
Here's your newsletter from me, Matt Glaman!
Drupal at the Edge - Starshot session
I was part of a Starshot session to talk about my work with Drupal and WebAssembly. It was a chance to demo the current state of the initiative, walk through a few bugs, and do some questions & answers.
Tips & tricks
Listen to your body when you’re coding. And I don’t mean about being aware of taking a break because you’ve been sitting too long.
There are plenty of times when I’ve been doing work and things feel off and then my work is off and I leave the work feeling wrong or disappointed.
A few podcasts have resurfaced the “Whole Body Yes” concept. I’ve been applying this during my work. Basically it’s aligning with my “gut instinct” on approaches and work. If there is any hesitation I don’t just “plow through it” but I try to figure out why. Generally it turns out that the requirements aren’t right or it wasn’t the most optimal item to work on. Granted, you can’t always pick and choose what to do, and most of the times you just have to get it done. But following this practice helped me focus on delivering the Drupal WebAssembly and delivering the important components first in such a short time.

Some may know that I am not a huge fan of GraphQL. I prefer a JSON REST API. Both approaches have their ups and downs, it’s all about the implementation details. I enjoyed these two blog posts about using GraphQL.
