Today’s mailing as well, as Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, will all focus on AI, each devoted to a different theme.

Today’s theme is an attempt to establish a broad perspective on the possible civilizational impact of AI. To achieve that perspective I have selected three pieces:

1) Emily Eakin’s article, briefly summarizing part of her recent book, The Frenchmen;

Note that the article has three open spaces, where pictures belong. The three pictures are contained in the folder below. They are best observed in their numerical order.

2) a book review by Ron Charles, an outstanding reviewer, of an important Jill Lepore book, published a few days ago;

and

3) an essay published by Bill Gates a week ago.
