Looking for Participants (Again)
I have that terror in my belly again, I'm afraid.
A year and a half ago, as I was preparing for my first round of fieldwork, I struggled to find participants. I was doing my fieldwork around Xmas and New Year's, and it was just awful trying to find anyone. I was so stressed about it, I couldn't sleep at night.
That experience is repeating itself, as it's now one week until my study date, and I have no participants for London. This time, it's summer vacation - apparently everyone in London is going out of town. I thought it would be easy to find people, because I have friends in London and around the UK, but you can't find people if they're not going to be there.
I've been checking my email constantly in fervent hope - but so far, no luck. I remember that last time I did this, it worked out in the end - so I'm just hoping for that again.
