It's not like I was planning to sleep or anything
I wish I could be the bearer of better news. For me, mostly.
I wasn't planning to email until after tomorrow's interviews at CSTM, but I'm dismayed enough that I figured I'd complain out loud. I don't have COVID again, fortunately! In fact, I'm at National Airport, already through security and getting dinner before the first leg of my trip.
My Air Canada flight was supposed to take off at 8:40pm, which was, sadly enough, the best schedule I could get, given that I had to work until 5:30 today. It's now slightly delayed, and we're due to take off at 9:00pm. Arrival is also delayed 20 minutes, so I'll be landing in Toronto at 10:39pm now.
My connection to Ottawa was due to take off at 12:35am, and arrive at 1:40am. (And, of course, nothing is open at Toronto Pearson Airport at that hour.) That was painful enough - but now departure is delayed to 1:40am, and estimated arrival is 2:45am. 🥴
I was hoping to be in my hotel room near Ottawa City hall by 2:30am. Instead, I'll be there closer to 3:30am. Fortunately it's a 24-hour front desk, and I already warned them a couple of days ago that I was arriving quite late.
I have a 10:00am meeting tomorrow, so I will be running on maybe four hours of sleep. 😴
But hey - I don't have COVID this time. There has to be some kind of silver lining. Oh, there's this one, too:
Cheers, y'all. Wish me luck.
