last call for level 2

The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, a woodblock print depicting a giant wave towering over several fishing barges whose crews are prostrate on the decks, presumably to avoid being swept overboard. The wave is a symbol for the power of improv, duh.

Friends! Level 2: The Heightening starts next week and you should be in it! (I mean, if you want to be and you’ve taken an introductory level class from me before.)

Level 2 classes are hard to fill because no matter how many people say they want to take a Level 2 most of them don’t actually do it. I’m not mad about this! I don’t take it personally! But what this means is that I probably won’t be offering another one for a good long while. So carpe diem, slackers.

Improv for Writers also starts next week! This is an absolute-beginners introduction to improv specifically geared toward writers, whose giant brains often get in the way of doing their work. This course will not shrink your giant brain but hopefully it will give you some ways to sneak around it when you need to. Please tell your writerly friends about this and direct them to the Mercury Improv website or to the Instagram or Facebook pages.

And as always I’m very happy to get email if you have any suggestions or just want to check in.

Thanks,
John
