Angeline Era Releases December 8th!!!
The wait is (almost) over...
I’ve got good news!
That’s right! Angeline Era launches on December 8th, 4 AM Pacific / 6 AM Central / 7 AM Eastern / 12PM UK / 9 PM Japan. (So I can set it live and attempt to sleep.. ha ha.) We plan to launch in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese, for Windows and Mac.

It will launch at $24.99 with a launch discount of 20%, so it’ll be available for $19.99 for the first two weeks. That overlaps a bit with the Steam Winter Sale, too. We went with this pricing after some debate. In particular, I think games are being priced too low, further driving a hit-driven economy where people price things too low and only those who hit it big get any sort of sustainability. Compared to Angeline Era, a shorter SNES game in the ‘90s cost like $120 today-dollars. Isn’t that wild? Angeline Era is about 20-30 hours long, so we felt $24.99 was fair after looking at similar size games. (For the quality of game, and the fact there’s never going to be something like it again in history, I think $29.99 is more reasonable, but perhaps the world doesn’t see it that way…)
There seems to not be a huge amount of competition during our launch week, so I’m expecting we’ll be able to have a decent amount of time on “Popular Upcoming” prior to release, as well as “New and Trending” after release, which will help sales!
We will also launch with the Soundtrack, which is being split into two volumes, both at $9.99. This will also be on Bandcamp (if you purchase there I get more money FYI!) I decided to go with this relatively high pricing ($19.99 for both) because I figured music is basically free via streaming, so I’d rather price the OSTs higher for people who’d like to send the extra support.
If we have time, we’re going to try to put together a little $4.99 bonus pack on Steam - concept art, ringtones, etc.

Obligatory Console Question
We’ll announce stuff when we have plans! Ha ha. Personally, I still say if you’re gonna do console gaming, get a Steam Deck… you can do anything you want with it after all.
State of Development
It’s been a very short and long almost 3 weeks since my last post. Since then, we’ve had more testers play the game, made some last-minute design revisions, and kind of just went around tuning stuff up around the game. Final writing, NPCs, missing art here and there. Marina’s in the process of polishing up as much level art as she can in the last few weeks (I might help too if needed.) I’ve been watching playthroughs, testing the game myself, and fixing little bugs all across the game, sometimes adding little fun ideas here and there. It’s a very meticulous/detail-oriented process, but it is going, and somehow despite the game being 20-30 hours long it’s very bug-free and stable for the most part!
Let’s just hope I can keep it that way on December 8th (lol)…
