Issue 2 — Coding for Designers
Welcome to the second issue of megu.space. As I write this, it's 78ºF in my Bay Area home. This summer, I've been cooling down by drinking Topo Chico with freshly strained passionfruit nectar—no sugar needed. Please, have a seat as I pour you a virtual glass of sparkling water and tell you about some things I'm excited about. 🍹
🐣 intro to coding for designers
It went so well the first time that we're doing it again!
Register here for the Fall cohort.
Sep 21, 2021 — Oct 26, 2021
Tuesdays from 4:00 — 7:00 pm EDT
6 workshops via Zoom
If you want to meet like-minded peers and learn to see web design as a craft, like creating a zine or an artist book, this is the course for you. You will emerge with fundamental HTML, CSS, and Github skills—and a better understanding of how the internet works, why it works that way, and how designers can change the shape of the world wide web.
Read about the learnings from the last cohort here.
🌿 i can make you a website
In case you didn't already know, I'm a front end developer and I'm available for new projects. If you need web design or development services, or just want to talk shop, I'm here! (You can reply to this email to say hello!)
🏺 kintsugi research
After 6 months of curing, I dusted off a partially repaired bowl and started researching starch glues. I translated (badly) some Japanese resources and found some inspiration from cooking to plan my natural adhesive recipes!
I also published some research-in-progress on lacquer painting and why the main urushi colors are black and red.
That's it for this issue, thank you for stopping by! 🍃
