Domestic Threats is probably the most personal of the novels I’ve written because the events that inspired it are so recent.

The characters, as always, are fictional. But the feelings are very, very real. It feels like I grew up in one version of the United States and overnight I woke up in another.

Of course, the reality is my awareness has changed more than my country.

p.s. Coincidences - I just finished Advocate by Eddie Ahn. It was a good random library find to read today because his book is all about the power of community. Highly recommend.
