Book news, art and (sorry) politics
Hello everyone!
I did promise approximately monthly catchups. Which clearly I haven't done. So even though it’s late here I thought I’d write a little bit.
The new book - working title ‘Delusions of Sainthood’ just needs a few more edits. Now for all the other writing-adjacent tasks like book cover choices, manuscript formatting, promotional art and choosing a publishing schedule.
In the meantime, I’ve been trying to keep my sanity by doing some art. I post my amateur artist adventures on Instagram at @urbannaturechica.
We live in weird times. I’ve been trying to figure out what activism means for me. As much as I’d like to separate my writing from politics I can’t. As Rich Larson writes in his story in “Afterglow”, “... cruelty filters downward—like the mercury in the fish she used to study ... the hardest thing in the world to do is absorb someone else's cruelty and not pass it on.”
More frequent updates/thoughts/feelings are posted on Mastodon. But I’ve added this newsletter to my monthly to-do list so I promise you’ll hear from me again here.
Cheers,
Megan
