social (email) update - april 2025

Hello hello from the sunshine of London! Welcome back to the monthly-or-less newsletter for social (media) attendees and practitioners.

Let’s dive right in shall we?

SOCIAL (MEDIA) MIXER - Thursday 8th May

The 80+ person mixer is back for its second instalment, in a private bar a few minutes from Oxford Circus, on Thursday 8th May. We’ve got some incredible speakers, and the guestlist is already half full. If you’d like to be there, please do drop me a line.

I’m also super chuffed to let you know that the mixer is being sponsored by the good folk at base. The team at base have excellent taste (they’re repeat sponsors of the meetups), and they provide Cloud Native Media Services - storing, processing and managing content at scale with integrated online media solutions.

base’s sponsorship also means there’ll be a load of free food and drink to kick off proceedings, including some bespoke cocktails.

UPCOMING MEETUPS

The next 20-person meetup is next happening on Tuesday 15th April, in Fitzrovia. We’ll be hearing from Alice Beverton-Palmer, and a combined talk from Kristianah Fasunloye & Shaline Manhertz. The end all-room-panel is titled “What has changed for you as the world has changed around you?“. I’ve kept back two spots for people who might reply to this newsletter. Hit me up if that’s you :)

AND ALSO / AND THEN...

We’re starting to get a bit of a calendar going, with events lined up now through the year. We’ve got meetups on Wed 21st May, Tue 24th June, and Tue 29th July, before a planned August break. If you’re the planning ahead type, drop me a line…

This email has been brought to you in the shadow of, but without the input of, our future AI overlords. All typos, errors and stylistic choices are my own.

Until next time!
