Trending Tuesday: From Rhinestones to Ryder Cup - feed flooding SoMe moments
Dear recipient
Welcome to another week of Trending Tuesday. Your weekly curated overview of what’s trending right now on social media🔥
❤️ If you like the newsletter, feel free to forward this newsletter it with anyone who could use a quick boost to their SoMe awareness 💡
Drumroll… see what’s been trending! 🔍
Beauty 💄
Hair Color Transformations: Hair is in the spotlight this week, with content focused on color changes - very autumn-coded 🍂 - with lots of blonde-to-copper transformations. More surprisingly, we’re also seeing cooler pink tones 🌸. Creators are documenting their hair journeys through before-and-after reveals, tutorials, GRWM formats, and product reviews.
Brands like K18, Garnier, Olaplex, Got2B, IDA WARG, Blondify, Four Reasons, Nioxin, and Dyson are driving visibility and engagement. The trend is thriving across Instagram (54%) and TikTok (46%), generating 1.2M impressions and 28.4K engagements.
Sport 🏆
It might not be in the Nordics, but the Ryder Cup deserves a mention. Rory McIlroy won, but SoMe is more focused on the behavior of American fans - especially after someone threw a beer at McIlroy’s wife 🫠.
Other SoMe sports moments the last week has been about Roscoe, Ferrari F1 driver Lewis Hamilton’s beloved dog 🐶 (and a fan favorite online), that sadly passed away 💔.
And another F1 driver sparked a wave of memes: Red Bulls Max Verstappen won in a Ferrari(!) at the GT3 in Nürburgring. Verstappen fans loved it (it was the first time in 2025 an F1 driver won in a Ferrari).
Music 🎶💍
Maybe this sound has been stuck in your feed: “I would like a riiiing, I would like a riiiing on my wedding finger with a big and shiny diamond…” The track by UK artist Raye has officially dropped and is still flooding feeds.
Meanwhile, SoMe is buzzing with anticipation for Taylor Swift’s upcoming release The Life of a Showgirl 🎤, set to drop on Oct 3rd.
Top creator follow up
Remember Klo__lo from last week’s newsletter? The account keeps growing and has now passed the 600k mark 📈. She started with just 21 followers, and two weeks later it’s already past 600k.
So what has the account done to keep up such massive growth? She delivers on her promise: adding a rhinestone 💎 per follower until Christmas. But more than that, she’s built a real relationship with her followers. For example, she’s taken requests from comments asking for specific colors on the house, filmed it, and replied while showing the process 💬. Many of those comments carry a lot of emotional weight ❤️.
She’s also pulled her followers into the behind-the-scenes—like when she ran out of rhinestones and glue - creating a sense of urgency ⏳. At this point, you can even sponsor her supplies. And she makes it transparent, visually showing how the money is spent on materials to keep the project going.
It highlights a dialectical relationship between creator and follower. The question becomes: who is really driving the growth - her content, or the followers pushing her to create more? 🤔
Things to keep in mind: going viral can never be predicted. You can aim for it, but you can’t calculate it. What can be considered are the elements she uses: the dialogue with followers, the urgency, and the “project-based” content. These are worth keeping in mind for creators - and brands too.
We hope you enjoy the read - see you next Tuesday
