What do you prioritise?

What do you prioritise?

If mobile home screens reflected our horoscopes, mine would likely read: Leos are practical and pragmatic, doing away with uncertainty, and choosing to keep only things that matter to them. Leos live for beautiful visuals and it’s no surprise to see the camera app close at hand for that “perfect shot”. Surely, if you peeked at a Leo’s mobile photo album, there would be multiple shots of the same subject. It drives her friends nuts. Some even say, “Can we eat now?” Besides that, if this Leo is being honest, she’s not so sure about that Chrome button these days.

I’m always curious about a person’s mobile home screen, as though it is a window into the personality and the truths behind this warm body in front of me.

So I thought to doodle what mine looks like, accurate (enough) as of yesterday afternoon. How many do you recognise, and how many are similar in type to what’s on your home screen? That red blob is my Singpass app - Singapore’s digital identity (not-so-shameless plug of my previous work).

I’d love to hear what’s a must-have on yours, so drop me a note, or better yet, doodle it!

Turning these pages

  1. Give yourself permission to pause because no one will do that for you. I’m tickled that they mentioned brushing teeth as a means to pause, because that is truly the one moment I cannot multi-task.

  2. Anna Jones’ One: Pot, Pan, Planet where eating clean doesn’t mean eating on empty. One thing to note is that you need a sturdy pantry of herbs like cumin, coriander seed, turmeric, etc. If anyone’s keen, let me know to share a few recipes, before you get on with your purchase.

  3. Sarah J. Maas’ Kingdom of Ash (the seventh and final book in her Throne of Glass series) because magic and fantasy fiction is an incredible world to let my mind blank out for a bit.

  4. Compassionate Conversations by Diane Hamilton, Gabriel Wilson and Kimberly Loh because people evolve as with conversations. Sure, you can stick to what you’re comfortable with if you just want to live in your own bubble. But where’s the fun in it, when there are many other bubbles to explore? I’ll get into this book with my next email, once I’m done with it!

Still in the market for a good quote.

Thanks for giving me some airtime in your email box. I’m trialing a new sort of content, since I’m always forwarding interesting reads via WhatsApp so why not collate them here, too?
