hello again

Happy daylight savings day! I am re starting this newsletter, and it will be very different but also kind of the same. Here's the deal:

When I wrote the last version of this newsletter, I was by myself in a new place. It was easy to know what to write about - my job and my life - because it was unique and random and it made sense to try and share what I was learning. The thing is, I really enjoy writing about things. I find that it helps me make sense of my life, and being able to share what I am thinking (thus: writing) adds a lot to the process (thanks!). So I am going to continue to do that. I am renaming this newsletter “Laundry Day” because just like laundry and sweeping the floor and all the physical chores that signal life is happening  and clear the way for more of it, putting thoughts into words is an important part of cleaning my little brain. Maybe I can even work on it while the washing machine is doing all the hard work of cleaning my clothes. That would be crazy. Who knows.

Anyways, my updates will not have a particular theme (at least not right now). I just plan to reflect on things that I see, do, or think about. Some common threads, based on what happens in my life, will probably be ecology (plants and mushrooms and birds), friendship, coincidences, silly theories, roller skating, and the process of learning things. I recently moved to San Francisco and am living in the mission district in a house with 4 other people. I am adapting to the pace of the city, working as a reading tutor in schools, selling mushrooms at farmers markets, and attending roller derby practice. So that is the current backdrop.

This is pretty different from the last version of this newsletter, so feel free to follow along or not. Absolutely no pressure. First update should come next Sunday and I will continue to share weekly(ish).
