The internet is full of things, and also I sold a couple of novels.
Hey, folks! Some more stuff to share with you today.
I have reached the end of Act II in The Origin of Storms. Finally. I just have to write this one confrontation and then the bigger confrontation after it and perhaps I will be out of the Dreaded Middle Of The Book and can find some momentum again. I don't know why middles are always so hard, but they are.
In Machine-related news, I did an interview with Whiskey With My Book and another one with Fresh Fiction Blog, so if you'd like to know a bit more into what went into the background of it, here's your glorious opportunity.
And hey, this is extremely cool: A Bengali translation of "Dolly" in Indian SF magazine Kalpabiswa, which I'm super excited about.
The big announcement (way to bury the lede, Bear) is that I have just signed a contract with Gollancz for two more White Space Books! The working titles are The Folded Sky and Shipwreck Star.
The first is about an informational archaeologist and her family as they attempt to retrieve information from an ancient site that is threatened by the destruction of its system's primary. (If you have read Ancestral Night, yes, it's the one you're thinking of.)
The second one is Castaway in space. Except not exactly.
Also, I can now promise: more space cats, and continued lesbians.
That's all for now. Be good, and stay brave.
Best,
Bear
