I made a duck for my Mom’s birthday, so the cats got braised duck innards for lunch, and they think this is a very fine thing and should possibly become a regular occurrence. They need to get jobs if they want that to happen, however.

So a local friend of mine made a suggestion in a slack the other day about lilacs being edible and posted a link to this article. I made lilac simple syrup, and it is delicious. I am drinking a lilac flavored soda right now, as it happens.

Someone on twitter also suggested lilac sugar and lilac cream. So anyway, this was a good idea, and if you still have some lilacs around wherever you are you might try it.
