July Book Club Post
Hey folks!
There’s a bunch of reading this month that I won’t be discussing too much, because it was for an award jury, but I also just took a bunch of time off from writing to deal with a personal loss, take a small vacation, and also do some home improvement and deep cleaning—and so I managed to read some other stuff as well! Because of the award reading, I read very little other fiction this month, but I did well on nonfiction.
I broke my streak of not yelling at the author.
I read Ainissa Ramirez’s The Alchemy of Us: How Humans and Matter Transformed One Another. Which is a very connections-style discussion of how inventions and social pressures and technologies intersect to create the technological world we live in, and largely I thought it was quite good (and very interesting.)
