Horse stories takes a fall
A week ago Tuesday, I fell off my horse.
People will ask you the difference between falling off and getting thrown. It's this: when you get thrown, the horse bucks away laughing and gallops home. When you fall off, he stands there looking at you with a concerned expression like, "Well you don't usually do that but I guess...."
I was riding Ormr, with Scott and Magni, and Scot decided to take Magni for a little tour of the farm while Ormr and I stayed in the arena. My right elbow has been bothering me (tennis elbow, which has in my case nothing to do with tennis) and well, when Ormr is upset tends to whirl to the left rather than moving forward.
And he was UPSET about Magni leaving. (Horses are herd animals!) so we were having a long discussion about how no, he could not follow Magni, and no, he could not spin to the left, and hey, how about we go walk around this nice pasture with the gate open and no other horses in it? Would that be comforting?
