Have you tried turning your government off and turning it back on again?
We’re at the culmination of a forty-five year project in destroying American faith and investment in the idea that government exists to serve and protect our society and the people who live in it. The natural outgrowth of that destruction is oligarchy and unchecked metastatic capitalism—a rapacious cyberpunk dystopia. And curiously, the forces most strongly behind the meme that government is inefficient and incompetent are—wait for it—also the people at the top of the inequality tree.

Maybe we need to stop having a government for a while for people to realize it's a good thing that ideally works for us. Hope I survive the experiment.
