Adventures in everything
Hey, folks,
Things have been a little hectic around here for the past week or so, but in a good way mostly. Spring has finally sprung, and it's cool and beautiful and the flowers are starting to pop up (daffodils! cherry trees!) so the horses are back on the trail and we have been doing a lot of riding. (Nothing really exciting to update on the horse front, except that we're still working on tolt (the Icelandic horse's special gait) and the boys are hopefully going to a trainer up in Vermont for the summer in order to practice gaiting and balance... and get away from the heat.)
Also, Scott and I are dogsitting for a wonderful wolfhound named Tolkien, who is a Very Good Boy and also lorge and requires a lot of walking. And I've got five yards of mulch in the back yard. And I'm trying to write every day. Something that fell by the wayside during cancer treatment. But I am back on the wagon now.
A time management trick I use to reward myself (because we are simple mammals, us apes, and we work for treats--see previous post about moving the goal posts on yourself and how it results in loss of motivation) is that when I reach a round number on the novel I get to take two days off. A "Weekend.")
