New episode with Pollès: An Incredible Encounter

Our latest episode is now available

This week we want to introduce a very special episode of Materially Speaking which this time is not a podcast, but a video - ‘An Incredible Encounter with the sculptor Pollès’.

You can watch Pollès: The World of Pollès on our website or on YouTube.

Widely recognised as the inventor of organic cubism, Pollès has created his own private laboratory for the creation of his singular sculptures.

Paris-born Pollès is inspired by the female form and is known as the inventor of organic cubism. Fascinated from a young age by anatomy Pollès first studied medicine, before dedicating himself to art.

He invites us inside to explore his workshops, starting in a room with enlarging machinery he invented twenty-five years ago, before the widespread use of the computer. In the next room there’s a neat line of brushes hung from pegs and pots of powder for creating the many patinas for which his work is well known.

You can watch episode 69 Pollès: The World of Pollès on our website or on YouTube.

Follow us on social media to see photos and videos of all the artists we have interviewed, and other arts news from Pietrasanta. On our website materiallyspeaking.com, on Instagram at materiallyspeakingpodcast, and on YouTube.

Enjoy listening.
