February Classes / Giant Bees / Indoor Winter Art Crawl

We are feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders here in Minnesota. January was a really rough month. But, community and craft are powerful tools to prevent hopelessness.
Research shows that when we work with our hands, neural pathways in our brain light up, improving our mental health. Needle-felting, in particular, is an incredibly calming and meditative craft that can help regulate the nervous system.
Join me for a needle-felting class at my art studio, where you’ll be part of a community that appreciates craft and kindness. All are welcome!

SAVE THE DATE!
Indoor Winter Art Crawl at Bachman’s
February 28th & March 1st
I’m looking forward to my first art event of the year - inside Bachman’s greenhouse!
Currently on my easel is a very large bee hive painting. And when I say large, I mean it: the bees are over 6 inches long! I hope to have it finished in time for the event.

Thoughts & Musings
When the world feels extra cruel, and all I really want to do is curl up in a ball and hide, I’ve found it’s actually better for me to do something. I’ve been volunteering a couple of days a week, packing food boxes for families in need. We pack about 700 boxes each time. It keeps my body active, my mind busy, and helps prevent despair from taking over.
So many people are out there, doing good things. I’m grateful to see it, and be a part of it. xo Mary
