Fall Festivals and News from my Studio
Hello friends! | |
---|---|
I’ve been enjoying a little quiet time in my studio recently. In fact, I’ve been experimenting with saturated colors and I have a brand new a series of Monarch butterfly paintings. But Fall festival season is about to start! |
Upcoming Fall Festivals

I’ll be in Highland Park, Illinois for the Port Clinton Art Festival next weekend. This will be my first time at this show and I hear it’s a good one!

Commissions
Fall is a great time to commission a portrait, have holiday cards created, or order custom pillows. Act early if you’d like to have your art in time for the holidays!
Here’s a recent review from a happy client:
This is the fourth piece of original art I have purchased from Mary and the first I have commissioned. Working from an historic family photo of my grandma she created a beautiful pastel portrait that has place of honor on my gallery wall. Mary took time to learn more about my Grandma before commencing work on the portrait and the knowledge she gained shines through in this amazing likeness of my Grandma. Great communication at every step of the process made working with Mary a very enjoyable experience!

Thoughts and Musings
After a visit to my studio, a friend told me: “I wish I could just spend time in here, it’s so beautiful.” Which got me thinking about ways that people could use my studio, especially over the long winter months.
Do you have a book club or wine club that would like a lovely place to meet? Just think about the cachet of gathering in an artist’s studio! 😉 My large work tables might be nice for an afternoon of crafting. Perhaps I can host a “crafternoon” in my space. My gallery would be open for browsing and shopping as well. If you have any ideas to share, hit reply!
Enjoy the end of summer!
