Marshall Society and Sir Paul Collier Event Reminder
Dear Marshall Society Members,
We are excited to invite you to our first speaker’s event of the year with Sir Paul Collier in the Kennedy Room (Cambridge Union) on the 3rd November 2021 at 19:00.
Sir Paul Collier is a development economist who currently serves as Professor at the Blavatnik School of Government, as well as the Director of the International Growth Centre. Previously, he founded the Centre for the Study of African Economies and was Director of the Development Research Group at the World Bank. He has been named as one of the top 100 global thinkers by Foreign Policy magazine.
Professor Sir Paul Collier’s academic research focuses on the traps and pitfalls facing developing countries, exemplified in his book The Bottom Billion. In The Plundered Planet, he also investigated the interaction of capitalism with the environment. Beyond this, he has written widely on the sustainability of a neoliberal system of mass migration and unfettered greed in Exodus and Greed Is Dead.
We are delighted to have Professor Collier for this fireside conversation. This event is only open to paying Marshall Society members, so you can do so by depositing 25GBP to treasurer@marshallsociety.com via PayPal with your CRSID in the description.
