1. The Dismal Scientist - Form for 2023 Submissions
The Marshall Society has opened submissions to the 2023 edition of its magazine, The Dismal Scientist! The Dismal Scientist has had a long-running history of featured contributions from prominent economists such as David Card, John Kay, Gregory Mankiw and Alvin Roth, in addition to contemporary Cambridge scholars, whether students or faculty. We are looking for contributions from Cambridge students at any degree level, from any discipline, to continue this great tradition. If you are interested in writing an article for the magazine, please outline an article concept (in 50 words or fewer) below and we will reach out to you shortly. Please note that you will eventually be required to produce an article between 1,000 and 2,000 words on economic theory and/or current affairs in the summer. By submitting the form and expressing your interest, you give permission to the Marshall Society to edit and publish your work.

2. Prof. Ashwani Saith: “Cambridge Economics in the Post-Keynesian Era: The Eclipse of Heterodox Traditions”
Tomorrow 5-6.30pm, the Cambridge Society for Economic Pluralism will have Prof, Ashwani Saith join us in person to discuss the subject of his new book, 'Cambridge Economics in the Post-Keynesian Era: The Eclipse of Heterodox Traditions'. The event will be at Sidgwick Site, Lecture Room 4.
Ashwani Saith is Professor Emeritus at the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, and formerly was Chair of Development Studies and Head of the Development Studies Institute at the LSE. He studied economics at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and taught at the Delhi School of economics; in the 1970s, he took his Ph.D. in Economics while at Trinity College, Cambridge and served on the staff of Faculty of Economics before becoming a Research Fellow at Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford. He has been on the editorial boards of several leading development journals, especially Development and Change; and has published extensive on a wide range of development themes. His work relating to Cambridge economics includes:
Ajit Singh of Cambridge and Chandigarh: An Intellectual Biography of the Radical Sikh Economist, 2019, in Palgrave Series on History of Economic Thought.
The Cambridge Journal of Economics: A Forum of One’s Own, Review of Political Economy, 35th Anniversary Number 2023.
Joan Robinson and Indian Planning: An Awkward Relationship, Development and Change, 2008.
He is presently working on Keynesian economics and India, a contribution to the multi-country research project led by Louis-Philippe Rochon.
