Marshall Society: The Economics of Living a Good Life
Hello everyone!
Welcome back to Easter term, I hope revision is going well for everyone and work isn't hitting too hard! My name is Ellie Breeze and I'll be your new Secretary for this academic year, I do HSPS (shock horror) and I'm a second year at Peterhouse.
I want to be a familiar name to our members, so on any content included in any of these emails please do feel free to reply and ask me anything you're not sure about.
This week we have one upcoming event (our final one for this year!) before revision properly sets in, so please do attend!
Lord Richard Layard: The Economics of Living a Good Life: The Secret to Wellbeing and Happiness
When: Thursday the 4th of May at 17:00
Where: St Catharine's College OCR
We are excited to announce our last event of the year with Richard Layard, the Baron Layard in collaboration with @csepecon! Lord Layard is a Labour Party having sat in the House of Lords for over 20 years.
A pioneer of the economics of happiness and well-being, the Baron Layard's work is centred on improving people's quality of life, having also had a history of working on education and labour economics.
He is also the founder director of the LSE's Centre for Economic Performance, which is one of the world's most prestigious economic research institutes.
This event is open to all and we look forward to seeing you as the Baron Layard investigates the economics of living well, delving into the secrets of wellbeing and happiness
