Roaming through the Gloaming SPECIAL ISSUE: Pub Day!!

It is September 29th, and that means THE BONE BRIDES is officially out in the world!!
In honor of pub day and my not-so-secretly favorite character, Jeffrey the skeleton rabbit, some writer-friends (and one of their moms! and my lovely partner!) have blessed us all with these fabulous skelebuns! Art credit, thanks, and so much love to Paul Rose-Teter (x2), TJ, Shannon English, Meg Gauck, CJ Subko, Sasha Kielman; Christina Ferko, Artemis Whelan, Jess Aragon, Aowna; Carmeline Melchior, Via Luino, M. Stevenson, and Annika Barranti Klein <333 I am absolutely going to be printing out each and every one of these skelebuns to hang on my wall, where I can look at them and grin every single day.

I thought I was going to have a lot to say today. I have, after all, been dreaming of this moment since I was 7 years old. And I do have a lot to say, I do, but mostly...
If you’re going to be reading words of mine today?
I hope they will be my debut novel.
I have read The Bone Brides many—like, umpteenbajillion-many—times, yet all of these rereadings and revisions later, I still love it. I am so proud of it. I really, truly believe it is a downright good and even beautiful book, and each time I flip through a copy, I am in love all over again with my own words. Perhaps egotistical to admit, but you know what? It’s also pretty darn cool.
So go ahead. Close your browser. Make your way to the nearest bookstore. The Internet will still be here, and I'll still be blathering away on it at whatever point you return.
And if you’re in the California Bay or Sacramento areas and are hoping to get your copy of The Bone Brides signed, want to hear me talk about faery changelings and mental health in fantasy, or are chomping at the bit to ask me all your burning questions about skeleton rabbits and ghost bees, I have several events coming up! I'd love to see you there!
