marion mail #5
Hi all,
We want to welcome everyone who’s joined marion mail since the last one! It feels good to be writing to you again after such a long time. We’ve been quiet for a while, mostly because we’ve been busy working on the album. It feels nice to finally share some things with you.
We’ve got a show coming up!
On saturday the 26th of September, we’ll be playing at A Different Note festival in Utrecht. We’re on the Lotus stage at 20:00.
Some of you may have already bought tickets, but for those who haven’t yet: you can buy them here. All revenues will go towards education, sports & culture for children of families who don’t have much to spend.
We’d love to see you there!

marion season’s in full swing again
We had a good summer: took some time off, went on vacation, and enjoyed the sun. The last weeks we’ve been getting back into the marion grind: the new season is officially in full swing!

There’s an album on the way, more shows to be announced, and we’ve also been working on a new live setup with just the three of us. So there’s plenty to look forward to, but for now, it just feels good to be playing and making music together again.
Updates on our debut-album
We haven’t been sitting around doing nothing the last few months. We did the last recordings and finalized production for the album, which is being mixed by Wessel Oltheten as we speak.
It feels like we’re getting closer than ever to the final form of the album, which feels like a huge relief. We’ve worked years on some of these songs and they’re getting ready to fly out into the world (and your ears). Bear with us though: releasing an album takes some preparation, and although the music’s practically finished, we still have some work to do.

Q&A
We asked our followers on instagram if they had any questions for us and we try to answer 1 question every mail. This one’s from Boaz:
“What would be your dream collaboration?”
When we started marion, we wrote down some long-term (delusional or very ambitious?) goals. One of them was to be the support act on the next Bon Iver tour. Mees was the first to become a fan, and his enthusiasm quickly spread to the rest of us.
Bon Iver has been a huge inspiration in our evolution as a band, and people often hear that influence in our music. We’d be honored to share a creative process with someone like him (and the musicians, artists and producers he works with) and write a song that brings our creative practices together.
Write you soon!
Big things are coming, but we aren't quite ready to share the full details. Once we do, you’ll be the first to know :)). Stay tuned for an important announcement in our next marion mail, which is coming sooner than you might think!
