innerspace presents: wintering in the dreamtime

Dear Community,

Reporting live from my winter cave….sleepybear season in full effect…needing lots of quiet and rest…steeping in slumber and swimming in dreamtime…

Speaking of dreams…have you ever used the herb Mugwort for sleep/dreaming? I have a bottle of Mugwort essential oil in my nightstand and sometimes I take off the cap and let the open bottle sit open next to me while I sleep - every time I do this I remember my dreams…and there’s always a deep vivid quality to them. The smell of the oil itself can be a signal to my body that it’s time to sleep…It has such a unique aroma, there’s something comforting about a smell that I relate so distinctly to deep sleep. (For the record- it didn’t occur to me to write about mugwort ’til I sat down to write this ‘newsletter’, but here we are…living in the moment together…). I’ll attach a link in the resources section below to more information written by a *real herbalist* if you’d like to learn more! … and if you start to explore with Mugwort please write me and let me know how your dreamtime goes!!

Speaking of dreams and sleep…one of my dearest friends was the catalyst for one of my newer offerings…this friend was suffering from insomnia, and so I invited her over to receive some craniosacral to support her system…as we came out of the session and back into gentle conversation she said… “I wish you could come over and give me cranio at night before bed”…. we talked about “this genius business idea" playfully for a few months…and my warmth toward the idea just kept growing. I felt Yes, This is a yes. And so, presenting… “Dreamtime Cranio”! If you or a loved one have trouble sleeping or could use some extra support winding down at the end of the day, feel free to reach out about in-home craniosacral before bedtime. Turn off your phone, brush your teeth, put on your PJs…receive a session in the comfort of your own home in the later evening hours…we’ll keep words to a minimum at the end of the session so you can transition right to bed! Dreamy, if I do say so myself… ;). To inquire further, count your sheep over to innerspace.la/dreamtime

My March calendar is now open for booking craniosacral & sauna sessions at my sweet home healing space! Click here to book. Ah! This leads me to share that with the beginning of this year, I birthed a new website! The Secret Sauna was my first ever site and it served me so well….and now, with my craniosacral and journeywork offerings being my main focus, it was time to have a website that is more reflective of my truest offerings. Enter…. innerspace.la ….

May your sessions here support you in going in… into your innerspace, this sacred place for reconnection, from which infinite healing can occur…. Even when I was 19 and attended massage school- I was so much *less* focused on just working out knots in shoulders, and so much *more* interested in the richer landscape of the internal world happening in each of my clients as they immersed in receiving bodywork…the landscape of the heart, feelings and mind all breathing together with the body. I have always felt that bodywork has the capacity to touch all of the unseen layers of our being, and it is my honor to provide a space that welcomes all parts of you into our sessions. ♡

And with that…..let’s take a deep breath together! Mmmmm Aaaaaaah.

Here are a few resources to support you in this last stretch of winter:

LISTEN: Cave Mood playlist is sort of background moody…More mellow yet evocative all the same.

EAT: This is my new favorite gluten free BANANA BREAD RECIPE! I used maple syrup to sweeten and miyoko’s vegan butter although I know it’d be great with regular butter or coconut oil too!

LEARN: Here’s some info about mugwort for sleep and dreaming! I’ve never used any other method than using essential oil open on my nightstand (or a few drops on a tissue), but this site lists several options for how to work with the plant!

Looking forward to our next encounter and warmest blessings, friends…

yours truly

mari mu ♡
