My 2025 awards eligibility list

(“Awards eligibility list” is the scientific word for a list of things I had published this year. Fiction and non-fiction. Stories, reviews, and essays. I am also trying out my new Buttondown newsletter and so far it’s a lot easier to deal with design-wise than Mailchimp.)

2025 was a busy year for me, but I only had a couple of new stories out:

New stories:

  • “Vancouver” – in the anthology Spring in the City. Get your copy from Ruadán Books / Apple Books or Amazon.

  • “Highway 1, Past Hope” – in The Deadlands. Read the story / buy the issue.

I did write a lot of fiction reviews and essays this year and these are eligible for fan writer and similar award categories.

Short fiction reviews

  • My Short Fiction Treasures columns at Strange Horizons

  • A Short Fiction Treasures Special: 2 x 25 Gems from Strange Horizons’ Archives

  • My short fiction reviews in Locus’ December issue.

Essays & fiction reviews

At Ruadán:

  • Writing When Life is A Lot (or Too Much)

  • What to Read – The Women in Horror Month Edition

  • What to Read (and Watch) – the Ecohorror Edition

  • What to Read – the Pride Month Edition

  • What to Read – the Nordic Dark Speculative Fiction Edition

  • What to Read – the Novella Edition

  • What to Read: 10 New Books I Read and Loved in 2025

  • What to Read – Ghosts and Haunted Houses

  • What to Read – The Ruadán Books Edition

At Psychopomp:

  • Five Deathly Reads for Summer

  • 8 Books That Will Grab You By the Throat for Women in Horror Month

More to come in the new year! Thank you all for being here. 💗
