Summer
Life was boring in a nice way this week. I only have photos of meals we made. The tabs open on my web browser revolve around the CDC’s recommendations for travel to Tahiti, foods to eat at a Mariners’ ball game, and our wedding registry (we want a Le Puzz puzzle and a cherry pitter so far).
A lot of people downshift in the summer but being at a zoo and being in Seattle means it’s time to gear up. Here’s my shortlist:
See the sunrise @ Rattlesnake Ledge (one of the most popular hikes in Washington - hence the early start) and then go to the nearby Twede’s Cafe (aka the Double R, IYKYK) for a damn fine cup of coffee.
Go to this new to me bookstore Nook & Cranny a couple of blocks away, ask the bookseller for a recommendation, and begin reading in a hammock at the park nearby.
Take a long rambling walk inspired by the book Street Trees of Seattle.
Host a bbq that happens to take place on July 4th. Make a weird ice cream flavor to sample.
Go see a laser show at the Pacific Science Center.
Hang out on the porch every second I get, preferably with a friend.

What are your summer plans? When are you stopping by for some iced tea on my porch?
