Mundanity

I didn’t do anything all that exciting this week, but I did donate blood, so all I can manage this morning is a bulleted list:
Finally blocked Instagram on my phone. I’d been using it on the web browser a few times a day, which is far better than before, but I really want to read a damn book. I wanted my go-to when I open my phone to be a book. I’m making the move from Kindle to the Bookshop.org reading app and if anyone’s curious, I can report back. I know, I know, Libby’s a great option! But I want the book that I want right now, dammit! And with Libby you have to wait. I wish I was more patient, but I can only handle 1 media consumption vice at a time.
I biked to work every day this week. Long live bike infrastructure. It felt great. I love flying around. I feel powerful and confident and free.
Wakeups of the Oregon silverspot caterpillars - these are different from the Island marble butterflies we’re releasing on the island - began on Wednesday! Please imagine the tiniest possible thing - I’m talking a fraction of a sprinkle, smaller than a grain of rice tiny. I was using a tiny paint brush to move dozens of them from their winter homes to fresh violet leaves. I forget how tiny they are. So every new day I’m amazed by their size.
I leave you with 3 unrelated photos:

Was your week mundane? Sometimes that’s nice and I’d also love to hear about it if you have the inclination. Reply back to this email and I’ll get it!
