Santa's little helpers,
can you believe it's December already?! Jeez. It's a bit weird living in the number one Corona hotspot of the nation. Nothing really changed for me personally, and still I feel worse about everything. It's quite disheartening.
Over the past weeks and months I've come to realize that most of my frustration and discontent with how this whole thing is being handled is not all that much about the virus itself. In hindsight, I should not be surprised – our society doesn't really value human life, it values productivity. "The economy". It always has been like that, pandemic or not. At least our local fascist leader doesn't mince words anymore: The only reason schools are kept open is so that people can work for as long as possible. It's not about their education. Or their social needs. No one gives a fuck about the well-being of the kids. Or of the parents, for that matter. It's not about the people, it's about their labor power. We're told to stop living to save our grandparents, but at the same time we're forced to go to work at all costs – grandparents dying like flies included. We, as a society following the rules of our "representatives", are not doing shit to save the weak and the old. They are dying despite the personal sacrifices almost all of us are happy to accept to save other people. Instead, what we are doing is ensuring that the Bezoses of the world keep making more money.
If seeing this happening before your own eyes doesn't radicalize you to the left, I don't know what will. I absolutely hate that neo-nazi idiots are dominating the entire critical discourse so much that I don't even want to voice my anger because someone might think I agree with any of their bullshit. I don't. But to the day that I die I will never forgive anyone who decided to put the economy first.
Sounds all very radical and unhinged, I know – but it's nothing new, it's not a mad rage I'm just now getting into. I could have written the same thing five years ago, for example about our inhumane unemployment laws. As I said – I shouldn't have been surprised about how the pandemic plays out, it's following the same playbook we've always used.
HeimatKraft #5 | Ice, Ice, Baby! – 100% fully automatic ice farming, one of the biggest, most satisfying AND most annoying things I've ever built in Minecraft.

HeimatKraft #5 | Ice, Ice, Baby!
What a gigantic project the ice farm has been! Since publishing this episode I've been to busy to play more Minecraft, so it might be a while until the next video comes. And it might be quite different – but I can't say anything concrete yet! 🤐

Children of Dune (Dune Chronicles, #3)
Just as I already suspected last time – the third one was much better than the second one. I enjoyed reading this part very much, and so far (about ten percent in) the fourth entry seems good as well.

I've been waiting so long to finally play this game, and it's just as amazing as I hoped it would be. Check out the replays, I've added a ton of timestamps to funny, terrifying, interesting moments! Playing exclusively when streaming is a cool experience – I haven't been that focussed while gaming in a while, and that helps me enjoy the game even more. Getting emotional to the point of almost crying, or experiencing a steamy sex scene, was both rather… interesting… "with an audience"! But I absolutely love the fact that I will have a complete and permanent record of my first-ever play-through of this masterpiece. Based on how long the game is supposed to be, I should reach the end either tonight or next Monday, so as always: Come say Hi! on Twitch if you find yourself with nothing better to do on a Monday or Friday evening!
What a year this could have been. 🥲 It's no secret that I'm rather introverted, bordering on social phobia sometimes, but holy smokes do I miss… concerts, dancing, going out with friends.
Already released back in 2018, but I don't think I've mentioned it here yet and it came up while talking to a friend last night: Schlakks - Worüber reden wir hier is a great track that needs more love. 🎶
Based on what I've personally been struggling with most, I hope you will all be able to get as much energy, relaxation and peace as you need from your sleep in the coming weeks. We sure can all need some of that! 😴
