Dear all,
What dismal times, what frightening perspectives. Lately, I keep thinking about what any of us can do. One thing is to gather as often as possible, talk, and explore ways of organizing and taking action on a larger scale, while supporting each other on a personal level.
In this sense, there is a symposium this weekend: Culture Workers Organising Against the Authoritarian Turn, April 11–12, organised by Art Worker Solidarity, hosted by anorak (Gottlieb-Dunkel-Str. 43/44).
I’m also very excited to see work from over twenty artists coming together at maḳām very soon for the group show makam#3—the first works have already arrived. Save the date and join us for the opening on April 18—it will be a very special evening.

The exhibition will also feature performances, readings, and talks during the first weekend of May. Stay tuned for detailed information.
Quick links and things I want to share:
• Leman’s exhibition Resisting in Grief is still on at neunkelche.
• İpek has a work in the group show Memory Is a Strange Bell, at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Kottbusser Str. 10/d, until May 17.
• The first books under the maḳām editions imprint are now in production. There will be individual launch events, and we will be presenting our books together for the first time at border_less ARTBOOK DAYS, which will take place on May 15–17, hosted by Salt Galata in Istanbul.
• In other exciting publishing news, istasyon editions is releasing the first issue of their new yearly magazine: μητρική γλώσσα (Mitrikí Glóssa) / Lingua Maternal / (Leşono Emhoyo) ܠܫܢܐ ܐܡܗܝܐ / Anadil / Mother Tongue. It is now available for pre-order.
• And on Friday and Sunday late afternoon, you can still visit Day Book, Sarah Lehnerer’s exhibition at maḳām, celebrating her publication of the same title.
Görüşmek üzere, take care, see you soon x
