Configuring a VONETS VAP11G-300 Wifi->Ethernet Repeater/Bridge
Illumos has very limited support for Wi-Fi. One solution is to use a small module from the brand Vonets (available on Amazon), which allows you to 'convert' Wi-Fi to Ethernet. Here's how to configure one of the basic models.
┌ Connect the VONETS
Connect the VONETS to the Ethernet port of your computer and the USB cable to a power source (possibly a USB port of your computer, if the USB port is sufficiently powerful).

┌ Connect to the VONETS Wifi network
From a phone or a mobile device capable of connecting to a WiFi network, connect to the WiFi network 'VONETS_2...'
The WiFi network password is '12345678'.
┌ Configure the VONETS
Open a web browser from the mobile device and go to http://192.168.254.254 or http://vonets.cfg
The default username is 'admin' and the password is 'admin'.
The steps are :
- Click on Wizard
- Select your WiFi
- IP Layer
- No WiFi repeater
- Disable DHCP server
- Disable Hotspot
- Reboot
