👋 End of spring 2026 season
Hi all,
Apologies for taking so long to get this out. There's been a lot to catch up on now that the season is over. We missed the time together this last week and hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
🏆 Last Weekend Recap
Super proud of how well the team played to close out the season! Some shining moments all around. We got our first win outside of Spring Reign, including beating Eagle Staff, a team we lost to at Spring Reign, and being competitive with the all-8th-grade Whitman Wildcats.
🙏 Thank You, Families
We really appreciate the kind words and gifts. Thank you for your support throughout the season to make all of it happen.
📝 Quick Ask for Feedback
Feedback is how we improve. We'd appreciate 1–2 minutes of your time. Anonymous is fine. 👉 Share feedback here. Feel free to email [email protected] as well.
🎓 Shoutout for Our 8th Graders
We took time during the team party to acknowledge the 8th graders. Some of them have played six Madison seasons! We're so appreciative of the way they modeled inclusivity for the program, and we wish them all the best in whatever comes next.
Students heading to West Seattle High School can stay connected to ultimate by joining the Westside mailing list. You can also reach the program at [email protected]. If you are headed to another HS program please email Rusty ([email protected]) and he will connect you with your future program or lay out options for you.
☀️ Upcoming and Summer Opportunities
Lots of ways to keep playing this summer! Here's a summary of what's out there:
All experience levels welcome across all of these! DiscNW camps run 9am–3pm. Seattle Ultimate day camps run 9am–4pm (half day option available until 12:30pm). The DiscNW overnight training camp and Seattle Ultimate overnight camp are both open to MS and HS players.
🥏 Summer Pickup
Dates and times aren't figured out yet, but we'll likely message out about some pickup games through the mailing list and WhatsApp. Players should also feel free to take initiative and post if they want to gather with teammates. Coach initiation is not required!
Note that there is also all-ages family-friendly (i.e., adults and youth) ultimate that happens at Walt Hudley every Sunday: https://www.facebook.com/WSUFF/. It starts around 10 and wraps up after noon. You can come and go as you wish.
🍂 Fall 2026
Madison Ultimate will be back in the fall. We'll get more information out to this mailing list by late August or early September. Especially given Rusty’s transition, his son is graduating, we're going to want and need extra adult hands to help Coach Steve and Coach Andrew. Please let us know if you're interested in helping!
📬 Staying Informed
Feel free to let any incoming 6th graders in your lives know they can join the mailing list at buttondown.com/madisonultimate, the primary way to stay informed about next season. Unsubscribing is self-service, so feel free to do so at any point.
Thank you again for another great season!
