π· Spring Reign Logistics
Hi all,
Spring Reign is almost here! This is a long one but there's a lot of good stuff to know. Read through when you get a chance!
π Carpooling
We have a few families who need or want to carpool. Please log into the Player Portal and indicate whether you can offer rides or need a ride β the more responses we have, the easier it is to coordinate!
π Saturday Schedule
Our games are in the D Division, Pool J. Here's what Saturday looks like:
The team calendar has also been updated with game times. Sunday's schedule will depend on how pool play goes β we'll share more as we know it.
π¬ WhatsApp Community
Please make sure you're in the WhatsApp community for day-of updates, photos, and coordination. Join link is available in the Player Portal.
π― Disc Accuracy Challenge
There's an optional throwing challenge players and spectators can participate in! Two-person teams (one Bx-matching + one Gx-matching, or two Gx-matching players) go through preliminary throwing stations to qualify for a showcase throw-off on Sunday. We can send up to 3 two-person teams. Just show up near the merch tent between 10amβ3pm on Saturday β no prior experience or sign-up needed. Finalists compete at 10:30am Sunday. Parents/coaches can also compete in an open division if a player team qualifies!
πΈ Photo Booth
There's a photo booth open 9amβ3pm both days, located next to the food tent near the NE fields. Don't miss it!
π§ Spirit of the Game
Spring Reign is a Spirit of the Game tournament at its heart β players from all genders, all experience levels, from all over the region coming together to play frisbee on lovely grass fields. There are awards for both division winners AND division Spirit winners. After each game we'll go through a spirit reflection together as a team:
Score our opponent overall (1β5)
Name one thing our opponent did well and one area to grow
Name one thing the opposing coaches did well and one area to grow
Team self-reflection: one thing we did well, one thing to improve next game, and a self-rating
This is a meaningful part of the tournament experience β we'll make sure players are set up to engage with it well.
π Team Pizza Dinner
DiscNW provides pizza for teams after Saturday's final game! We'll have 6 pizzas for the team after our last game. Weβll probably eat at our last Saturday gameβs field. Feel free to add other potluck items.
π§ Hydration
Three games plus a full day outside adds up fast! Please encourage your player to start hydrating now β not just Saturday morning. Showing up to the tournament already well-hydrated makes a big difference in energy and performance throughout the day. Keep those water bottles filled and drinking regularly all week!
π½ Merch Tent
There will be a Breakmark merch tent on site if players or families want to check it out!
πΊ Livestreaming
Some games will be livestreamed! You can find the streams here. You can also view the full tournament schedule if you want to catch other teams playing β like West Seattle High School!
πΊοΈ Field Maps
Here's the high-level field map. We'll have a more specific map to share on Friday.
π± Zero Waste β Please Help!
Burlington does not have recycling facilities at the tournament site, so we've been asked to pack out our own recycling and bring it back to Seattle. We'll be provided bags to help. A few things to know:
π’ Green bins = compost (food scraps, pizza boxes)
β« Grey/black bins = trash only
Please pack out glass, plastic, and cardboard recycling
Bring two reusable water bottles β single-use plastic bottles are discouraged
π Sideline & Site Rules
A few important rules to be aware of:
π« No belongings on the sidelines β sidelines are narrow and must stay clear for player safety. Spectating is often best from behind the end zone.
βΊ Tents must be staked into the ground and kept at least 5 feet from any sideline
π Dogs must be on leash at all times throughout the park complex
π No alcohol, vaping, smoking, or illegal substances anywhere on the tournament grounds
π Food tents are located near each Tournament Central β DiscNW provides food for players and families!
π What to Pack
Players:
Cleats
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses βοΈ
Rain gear if the forecast looks iffy π§οΈ (jacket, layers, change of clothes)
At least two reusable water bottles
(Optional) Extra snacks if you want more than what the tournament and team provide
(Optional) Something fun for downtime (cards, etc.)
Parents/Chaperones:
Sun gear βοΈ
Rain gear (umbrella!) π
Chair or blanket to sit on
π Some Rule Differences from the Spring Season
Gender ratio: 4:3/3:4 genzone β after the initial pull/receive flip, a second flip designates the genzone. The team starting in that endzone each point determines the ratio for that point.
Scoring: First to 13. Hard cap at 75 minutes β horn sounds, finish the current point, then one more point if tied. No overtime.
Halftime: When either team scores their 7th point.
Timeouts: 2 per half, limited to 90 seconds each.

It's a full weekend for a lot of you, but itβs going to be great β can't wait to see everyone out there!
