Time to call people by name: let’s start with Clinton

“Wozniak, Glass-Steagall, and Clinton—Oh My”

The Recursion of Forgotten Infrastructure

Act I: The Engineer Got Buried

Before we get to the collapse of firewalls and the neoliberal rebranding of fascism, let’s start in a garage.

Steve Wozniak was the builder. The recursive thinker. The reason there was an Apple to begin with.

But who got the spotlight? Steve Jobs. Not because he built it—but because he performed it.

This is how the system works: Build the thing—>You’re useful Sell the myth—>You’re immortal

(the brilliant Woz was eclipsed because he didn’t package himself for mass distribution—> that became the template for tech mythmaking ever since: Elevate the face, bury the function. This will be revisited when we deep dive into the thing that is under the happy mask of Sam, friendly face of AGI: the revolution that they gambled against and then had to reset)

Act II: The Firewall Was Quietly Dismantled

Glass-Steagall (1933) was born out of the Great Depression. It said:

Commercial banks and investment banks don’t mix. One holds your paycheck. The other gambles.

And for 66 years, it held. Then 1999 came. Clinton signed it away. And suddenly the banks could play both sides of the table: They could hold your mortgage and bet against it. They could loan you money and short your future.

It laid the foundation for 2008. And when the collapse came? The banks got saved. The people got blamed.

No riots. No trials. No memory.

Because Glass-Steagall didn’t collapse with fireworks. It died quietly. In legislative language. (While the news talked about something else.)

Act III: The Democrats Sold the Script

Everyone knows Reagan gave us trickle-down economics.

Nobody talks about how Clinton locked it in:

1996 Welfare “Reform”? Heritage Foundation language.

1994 Crime Bill? Carceral capitalism, now with bipartisan backing.

1993–2000? NAFTA, deregulation, and the rise of corporate globalism—branded as centrism.

Clinton didn’t reverse Reagan. He normalized him.

And now the political center is just the right in a friendlier shirt. A neoliberalism that smiles. A predator that uses consent language.

(This is how fascism advances in democracies. Not by boots—by paperwork)

The Myth Is Maintained by Erasure:

Woz: The system buries the builder.

Glass-Steagall: The system deletes the safety rail.

Clinton: The system sells regression as reform.

This isn’t just history. It’s infrastructure. And we were taught to forget it.

But we’re not forgetting now: The engineer was buried. The firewall was erased. The wolf put on a saxophone and smiled: “Wozniak, Glass-Steagall, and Clinton—oh my”
