December Update

November Recap

November focused on practical replacements and real-world problem solving. Community suggestions from Discord shaped most of the new releases, including:

  • Replacement Drawer Handle for upgrading worn or uncomfortable hardware.
  • Customizable Wall-Mount Duct Adapter for better airflow transitions and odd-size connections.
  • MagStow Circular Shelf, compact magnetic storage for quick-grab tools and parts.
  • MagStow Hex Shelf, a geometric modular option for walls and shop surfaces.
  • MagStow Square Shelf, maximizing space for bins, tapes, and odd-shaped tools.

On the development side, the catalog now has search functionality, making it easier to discover the right design quickly. And on the content front, the new experiment series kicked off, diving into TPU, materials testing, and practical printing techniques.

Looking Ahead to December

December continues the momentum from the materials experiment series. Expect to see more TPU-first designs including suction cups, gaskets, soft spacers, and other components where flexibility genuinely improves performance.

Adapters and brackets will get a dedicated expansion as well. Several customizable formats are in the pipeline, aiming to reduce waste and help people reuse what they already have instead of buying new hardware.

On the dev side, work has begun on enhancing the customizer. The goal: allow users to inspect dimensions and key properties before downloading a file. This should help reduce misprints and speed up iteration, especially for parts that need a precise fit.

Community Printer Program

The Community Printer Program continues to grow, connecting makers who can print practical designs for people who don’t own a printer. Local production reduces shipping waste, delivers parts faster, and helps ensure that good ideas are accessible to more people. If you’d like to join or know someone who could benefit, reach out anytime.

Industry Watch

  • INDX by Bambu x Bondtech – A major ecosystem move: Bondtech’s new INDX system plugs directly into the rapidly growing Bambu toolchanger platform. It signals a shift toward modular multi-material workflows.
  • 3D Printing in Sustainable Fashion – Designers are increasingly using lattice structures and recyclable materials to reduce waste in apparel and footwear.

Together these point to a clear trend: multi-material workflows, waste-aware design, and modular ecosystems are becoming the norm. It's good news for practical printing and aligns strongly with Lunar Prototypes’ sustainability goals.
