Help Crit One 3 Pass The Finish Line!
Our zine of epic fails is in its final week and needs your help to reach our goal!
This campaign has gone much slower than last year. Crit One 2 funded in its first week and then gained $200 extra over the rest of the month. But Crit One 3? It’s been a struggle.
Though there are definitely things on my end that could have been done better, many of the reasons for Crit One 3’s steady progress are external. The book’s quality didn’t decrease (if anything, it’s gotten better) and I had new opportunities to promote this year that expanded our reach. We’ve done the work and the creators of this book deserve to see it printed.
It mainly comes down to Twitter’s slow decline in usability to promote indie works, and the financially and politically strenuous times hitting the US. While BlueSky has exploded in users, the engagement doesn’t seem to be at older Twitter levels yet. This says to me that a lot of people are making accounts, but not necessarily logging on regularly.
