Happy September! Fall is almost here! We’re feeling its approach in the cooler days and chilly winds. Fall holds a special place in our hearts as a season of gathering and baking, taking walks under falling leaves, apple picking, and going to the Ren Faire. We hope everyone is looking forward to this year’s cycle as much as we are 🍂

We’ve been quite busy behind the scenes with a brand new project! Can you guess what it is?!

Knapsack Magazine Volume 3 is underway!!!!!! 😳✈️💌 This volume is called STAMP, and it is travel themed! <3 Think letters, train tickets, long bus rides, stamps, cars, planes, trains, pen pals, rest stops, souvenir shops… and so much more. Our artists have been working so hard to make amazing comics and illustrations, we’re so excited for you to see everything!

We’ll see you soon at this year’s Small Press Expo! SPX takes place on September 12 & 13 at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. We will be at table I4! We have some cute new prints and copies of all of our books. We’re selling the last batch of our run of Jeanie Goes To The Moon by Kelly Ficarra at this show- if you want this book, it’s the last chance to get it! If you are attending the event this year, Cartoonist Co-op has a guide on how to support the labor boycott at the Montgomery County Conference Center. Steph:Playing / reading / watching: Rewatching Banana Fish since the english dub was released… the pain… And for comfort, Star Trek TOS. I’ve been listening to a lot of Threshold podcast episodes lately and am currently reading Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire. 

Eating / drinking: Citrus season came and went here on Maui, but for a little while we were making a lot of calamansi, yuzu, and sudachi-ade! 🍋

Sara:Playing / reading / watching: A World Appears by Michael Pollen, and listening to nonstop Joan Baez throughout my late summer days
Eating / drinking: I can't stop eating seasoned fresh cabbage, cucumbers, and swiss chard from the farm. Foraging & snacking on wild grapes in the last week :-)
