Classes
Sunday February 4: Sunday Synthesis Study Sessions (S^4) with Dan Derks
Join us for guided exploration and play, rooted in the world of sound design and electronic music production. Each session begins with a short presentation of a synthesis technique using both hardware and software. From there, an experienced guide will be present to help participants continue plumbing, extend into their preferred environments and toolkits, or simply use the presentation as a conceptual springboard.
Tuesday February 6: Sew a Shirt with Megan Avery
Ready to take your sewing skills up a notch? Join Megan Avery of Hipstitch Academy for our next sewing class to make The Ellsworth Shirt. Pattern company Merchant & Mills calls it "an oversized, boxy shirt with a dropped back hem and half placket. Swingy and absurdly comfortable." This shirt workshop will teach you essential intermediate level sewing skills you can use for life.
Saturday February 24: Natural Incense Making with Ulysses Jackson
Learn the basics of incense making, formulation, and smell some unique natural ingredients from foraged local and harvested faraway. We will make a variety of cones to share and take home.
Saturday March 9: Basic Physical Computing with Brian Crabtree
Physical computing is the practice of interfacing digital machines and not-digital reality. We'll make a tiny computer blink lights and collect sensor data from knobs and sliders and buttons, culminating in a musical controller to play a virtual synthesizer using MIDI.
