1000 Lotuses Part 3 Preview

Part 3 is now available to pre-order, and a preview scene of approximately 7300 words is available to download as a pdf! This scene focuses on Zhang Chenghua providing Ouyang Chakou her services as a healer, and some very lesbian activities afterward :) also featuring moments of sisterly disapproval from Suming.

I thought I really held back on the gore, but I got some…mixed reactions from beta readers. Use your discretion; I don’t know what your tolerances are! But at least one reader would recommend not taking this one with a meal, so there’s that.

1000 Lotuses Part 3 - Ghost Gate by LotusCarp

A lesbian focused queer fantasy inspired by China in the 10th century.

Mingdao Temple stands guard at the border between the worlds of the living and the dead. Its current master, Ouyang Chakou, has quietly lived there for a hundred years. She has no idea what to expect when a tiger carrying a half-dead woman turns up at the temple gate, but nonetheless, she removes the flesh-eating curse that nearly claimed the woman's life, and helps her begin to heal.

She never dreamed that Zhang Chenghua would express her gratitude through shameless flirtation, but the same secret behind Ouyang Chakou's century-long exile in the mountains compels her to spurn the herbalist's advances. Besides, how could these advances possibly be sincere? What could a daring hero of the martial arts world possibly want from a quiet, dour woman like her?

Meanwhile, the demon sealed near the temple is soon to break free. Zhang Suming can destroy it for good—but if she confronts this heavenly tribulation, she can no longer avoid the gaze of the gods. Can the yao goddess prevail against the lotus demon fueled by a hundred-year-old grudge? Or will her dreams of ascension die in the same place as her mother's?

Maybe what she's missing is the help of a certain bodhisattva.

In this installment of 1000 Lotuses, a tiger finally shows her true strength, an herbalist engages in unprofessional relations with her patient, and a bodhisattva tries to bring three sisters together again.

Current planned release date for the full arc is March 27—yes, I know my original plan was to have the entire arc out today, but I had the multiple flare-ups in November and other stuff came up besides u_u Thank you all for your continued patience.

Speaking of going through stuff…

Fundraiser Update

We received verbal confirmation from a social worker that we are now approved for full assistance for my mother’s treatment, but I won’t breathe easy until the letter physically arrives in the mail. My dad had a stroke last week unfortunately and the money raised so far can still go toward his ER bills. I’ve put my job search on hold again because his care needs are higher than before.

Back to cooking, cleaning, and writing.
