Hello Nelson Families,

This year, we’re doing our first PAC meeting differently. We’re going to showcase the activities we’ve done in the past and what we’re planning for this year. This is perfect for parents who are new to the school, but I bet those of you who have been around for a while will learn new things as well.

You’ve probably heard about Hot Lunch, but did you know we use the profits to subsidize families in need? Did you know that we have a scholarship for former Nelson Students? Did you know that members of the garden club work with teachers, in-class, to teach your kids about how plants grow, to plant gardens, and even make murals? Did you know that we raised money for the Britania Playground renewal? We arrange or pay for a variety of workshops or presentations for students. We worked with the school admin to get digital field trip forms, an updated sensory room, “quiet spaces” at break times, and alternative locations for students to eat lunch.

If you come to one PAC meeting, I’d suggest you come to this one so you can learn about all the things that don’t make it into the e-mails.

As usual, there will be FREE CHILD CARE for school-aged children and a door prize for a munch-a-lunch credit of $20.
