As the weather gets cold and the rain and snow move in, it is time to retreat to your local social gathering spot to draw. In the Pacific Northwest, the classic third space to gather in during winter is the coffee shop. Epitomized by Starbucks, coffee shops are the Northwest’s warm, cozy antidote to cold, rainy fall and winter days.

For yesterday’s drawing event, Ardie and I were not able to meet, but gathered remotely in our local coffee shops. This seemed like the perfect time to talk about what to look for in a coffee shop and offer some ideas on places to visit in Oregon.
