Public Drawing Emotions and Jitters
Working with emotions while out drawing
“The art of walking does not require a great deal of seriousness and the flaneur is always free to pause to chat with other strollers and loafers and perhaps to flirt, to gossip, or tell stories, to smell the roses, to roll about in the roil of urban life, and to brazenly gawk at the world.” DIY Magic by Anthony Alvardo
Recently, I have seen several newsletters and blog posts from people about their experiences starting to draw in public. As I have been drawing in public for 10+ years now it is always interesting to hear how many emotions come up for people while drawing in public since it is very natural for me at this point. So I thought I would take this chance to share some of my experiences while drawing in public and some techniques for working with public drawing jitters.
