Here in Corvallis the sun is out and we have 60 degree Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius) weather coming up for the weekend. Around here that is short weather for anyone livening in California. So this seemed like the perfect opportunity to touch on a tangential benefit of drawing outside, which is exercise. Artists are not usually thought of as very athletic and in the age of the sedentary studio artists it is pretty obvious why. Yet many artists historically were quite active from stone masons to Van Gogh walking the French countryside and there is good evidence that this physical activity is very beneficial to the creative process.
